Chi è Gloria Campriani? Nasco a Certaldo nel laboratorio tessile di famiglia. La familiarità con i filati ha facilitato, sicuramente, più tardi la mia espressività artistica. Le mie origini legate al filo mi impongono una particolare attenzione alla corrente della Fiber Art, da cui prendo ispirazione, nel concetto più contemporaneo del termine. La mia pratica artistica rifugge l’uso di strumenti tecnici e di schemi precostituiti: i filati si intrecciano senza telai, le forme si sviluppano senza vincoli, in un continuo divenire che riflette il fluire della realtà stessa. Evito tutto ciò che mi potrebbe impedire un rapporto diretto con la realtà. Recentemente, in una ricerca, ho scoperto che alcune modalità, da me adottate somigliano esattamente a quelle di un ragno. Il mio corpo con tutti i sensi è sempre l’elemento centrale, assorbo e trasformo tutte le sollecitazioni visive ed emotive attraverso la mia persona sia nella dimensione della ricerca più intima sia in quella pubblica delle performance che mi permettono di intrecciare, fuor di metafora, storia e natura, spazi e persone in modalità sempre imprevedibili. Le opere che ne scaturiscono spesso vengono da me rielaborate, riannodate e infine riutilizzate e disponibili per soddisfare nuovi bisogni. Seguo la filosofia dell’economia rigenerativa: riciclo, riparo, e riutilizzo la trama dandole una nuova vita. Un’arte effimera, soprattutto nel caso della performance, che vive nel momento e si nutre del rapporto diretto con il pubblico e lo spazio. Un processo vivo e mutevole, sempre aperto al dialogo con il mondo. Spesso a testimonianza di certe opere rimangono solo video o scatti fotografici che diventano opera essi stessi. Tratto il filo con quella confidenza maturata nel tempo, che in alcuni casi mi porta a tormentarlo fino a distruggerlo, per trarre dalla fibra l’essenza intima e vitale. Il linguaggio simbolico legato al filo è per me continua fonte di ricerca e filo per dar forma al mio pensiero. Il filo, infatti, nei miei lavori, appare spesso come modello di connessione e contaminazione. Metto a fuoco il comportamento umano in termini di interazione tra stati mentali e situazioni sociali immediate che porto avanti da anni attraverso un’incessante sperimentazione e ricerca come si può vedere dalle mie performance. Il filo, la trama, l’ordito, la rete, il telaio sono sempre stati usati come paradigmi esistenziali, immagini centrali nel racconto di miti e di fiabe e ancora oggi, nel nostro linguaggio l’immagine del tessere e del rammendare è utilizzata per visualizzare interventi di ricostruzione.

Come è entrata l’arte nella tua vita? La mia formazione passa attraverso lo studio delle lingue, con soggiorni all’estero, la pedagogia, il teatro e l’arte, frequentando corsi presso varie accademie, incluso quello di anatomia presso l’Accademia delle Belle Arti di Firenze. Attenta alle mutazioni della società (anche attraverso le più innovative modalità di comunicazione), nel 2018, per approfondire la mia ricerca, frequento il corso di antropologia sociale presso l’Università di Siena. Ho sempre amato e praticato l’arte fin da piccola, ma la consapevolezza che fosse l’unica cosa capace di soddisfare i miei bisogni è arrivata solo in età matura, quando ne ho preso coscienza. Come scandisce la sua giornata Gloria? Costruisco progetti che nascono da studio e approfondimento, dove ogni gesto creativo è preceduto da riflessione e osservazione. Lavoro, da sempre, insieme ad artisti e ricercatori, confrontandomi con la sperimentazione. Ogni collaborazione è un’occasione per ampliare il linguaggio, per contaminare il mio sguardo con quello dell’altro. Che difficoltà hai incontrato per cercare di emergere? Le difficoltà più grandi sono i muri invisibili che non riesci a rompere. Ostacoli silenziosi, spesso costruiti da chi detiene il potere e non condivide le tue idee artistiche e progettuali. Non sempre chi può aprire strade è disposto ad ascoltare linguaggi non convenzionali, visioni che si muovono fuori dai canoni prestabiliti. Desidero semplicemente poter dialogare, conversare e discutere di più con il mio linguaggio — un linguaggio che nasce da ricerca, esperienza e autenticità. Per poterlo fare sempre di più, ho bisogno di essere maggiormente conosciuta, affinché ciò che realizzo possa acquisire una valenza diversa, più profonda, più riconosciuta. Perché l’arte, per generare senso, ha bisogno di essere vista, ascoltata, accolta.

Quanto contano i rapporti umani e quanto le ” conoscenze”? Arriva in alto veramente il più meritevole?

Credo nei rapporti umani e nelle collaborazioni, anche quando le difficoltà sembrano ostacolare il cammino. Nel campo dell’arte, l’incontro non è solo un momento di scambio: può diventare una vera e propria risorsa. È nell’intreccio tra visioni, esperienze e sensibilità diverse che nascono progetti capaci di trasformare, di aprire nuove prospettive. L’artista oggi non può vivere isolato: deve saper dialogare, costruire relazioni, accogliere il confronto. Anche quando il riconoscimento tarda ad arrivare, anche quando le strutture sembrano chiuse, io continuo a credere che la collaborazione sia una forza generativa. È lì che l’arte si fa viva, si espande, si radica nel tessuto sociale. Incontrare qualcuno che crede in te e diventa tuo mecenate per farti crescere è una bella cosa, ma non sempre succede e può non succedere mai. Questo, però, non è un buon motivo per non continuare, e io vado avanti a prescindere. Chi riesce ad affermarsi come artista non ha soltanto talento o virtù: deve essere anche capace, determinato e, soprattutto, saper essere manager di sé stesso. Oggi non basta creare: bisogna saper comunicare, organizzare, promuovere, costruire reti. L’artista che arriva è colui che riesce a sostenersi, a autofinanziarsi, a dare valore al proprio lavoro senza snaturarlo. E questo equilibrio, difficile ma necessario, è ciò che permette di continuare a fare arte con autenticità e forza.
