“Ho presentato un’interrogazione urgente all’assessore alle opere pubbliche per richiedere aggiornamenti sullo stato di avanzamento del progetto che prevede il trasferimento del Museo dei mezzi di comunicazione nell’ex palazzo della Banca d’Italia in via Cesalpino.
Il Consiglio Comunale aveva approvato all’unanimità, il 19 luglio 2019, un atto d’indirizzo volto a individuare un ambiente più ampio per esporre l’intero patrimonio culturale del Mumec, unico in Italia per la varietà delle tematiche trattate e la cura nella loro sistemazione. Il museo ha ottenuto moltissimi riconoscimenti, è diventato un punto di riferimento per la storia delle telecomunicazioni e vanta collaborazioni di rilevanza nazionale e internazionale. Inoltre, ha ricevuto in donazione dalla RAI gli impianti degli studi di registrazione di Torino. Il suo proprietario, Fausto Casi, ha espresso la volontà di cedere la gestione della collezione gratuitamente e a tempo indeterminato al Comune di Arezzo. Siamo dunque in presenza di un biglietto da visita per la città con potenzialità scolastiche, culturali e turistiche. Il Comune ha effettuato una valutazione di fattibilità per la nuova eventuale sede di via Cesalpino già a novembre 2023. Credo a questo punto, anche in virtù della risposta dell’assessore che reclama un interesse reale e non a voce di Regione Toscana, resti da monitorare la situazione, da sollecitare le tempistiche e giungere al trasferimento del museo nei locali dell’ex Banca d’Italia. Sarebbe un’opera meritoria per le generazioni future e di cui beneficerebbero i flussi di visitatori, di conseguenza le attività economiche, che troverebbero un gioiello a disposizione nel cuore del centro storico a due passi da San Francesco”.
