La costituzione del Ducato di Massa e Carrara sotto la sovranità temporanea di Maria Beatrice D’Este (cognata del granduca Leopoldo II);Lucca da Repubblica diventa Ducato assegnata a Carlo Lodovico di Borbone (Parma) fintanto che non diventerà duca di Parma e Piacenza (alla morte dell’ex moglie di Napoleone, Maria Luigia d’Asburgo Lorena a cui era stato assegnato il ducato come “idonea sistemazione”).Viene confermata la scomparsa del Principato di Piombino e dello Spagnolo Stato dei Presidi. Composto dai territori di Orbetello, Talamone , Ansedonia, Porto Santo Stefano, Porto Ercole, Capalbio e il territorio di Porto Longone (oggi Porto Azzurro) nell’isola D’Elba con capitale Orbetello; nato come possedimento diretto della Corona di Spagna amministrato dal Viceré del Regno di Napoli e Sicilia (1503-1707); dal 1707 al 1733 fu austriaco degli Asburgo; dal 1737 annesso al Regno di Napoli.L’Isola d’Elba resta toscana nonostante le avances francesi.Foto e Testo tratti dal Libro “Dal Granducato alla Regione” Marsilio Editore anno 1992.
