Sarà inaugurato sabato 6 dicembre 2025 alle ore 10.15, il “Frutteto della Biodiversità di Garavelle”, che nasce sulla base di un Protocollo di Intesa Triennale sottoscritto da Comune di Città di Castello

da Fondazione Archeologia Arborea, a cui si deve l’idea e il progetto, e dall’azienda L’Abbondanza, nell’ambito delle attività a sostegno delle produzioni locali, nell’anno in cui si intrecciano tre importanti anniversari: i 50 anni de L’Abbondanza, i 40 anni della Fondazione Archeologia Arborea e i 50 anni del Centro delle Tradizioni Popolari di Garavelle. Realizzato nelle aree del Centro delle Tradizioni Popolari nato per conservazione della cultura rurale, il frutteto prevede , oltre il recupero di piante esistenti, la messa a dimora di varietà locali di meli, peri, susini, fichi e piante aromatiche, così legati alla nostra storia rurale e del paesaggio storico. Il percorso è interamente accessibile e concepito come spazio di incontro per scuole, cittadini e visitatori.. L’intervento ha richiesto un’importante opera preliminare di bonifica e riqualificazione del terreno, condotta sotto la supervisione della Fondazione e con il contributo tecnico del Comune. “Un’occasione simbolica e concreta per celebrare la memoria, la cura del territorio e la responsabilità condivisa verso il future” dichiarano l’assessore alla Cultura Michela Botteghi e al Sociale Benedetta Calagreti. “Il frutteto, concepito come luogo accessibile e vivo, è dedicato alla tutela delle antiche varietà locali di alberi da frutta e alla valorizzazione del paesaggio rurale” La Fondazione Archeologia Arborea, tramite Isabella Dalla Ragione, ricorda che “da oltre quarant’anni è impegnata per la ricerca, la salvaguardia e la diffusione delle antiche varietà locali, patrimonio di cultura e biodiversità e da sempre ha come obiettivo quello di diffondere l’idea della conservazione e della valorizzazione dell’agrobiodiversità”. “La Società L’Abbondanza, attraverso la propria insegna GALA” – dichiara l’Amministratore Delegato William Camilletti – “è da sempre impegnata nella valorizzazione del territorio in cui opera e della sua comunità. La realizzazione del frutteto e delle attività future che trasformeranno Garavelle in un punto di riferimento per l’educazione ambientale e la cultura rurale rappresentano una tappa importante di questo impegno: un frutteto educativo, evocativo e inclusivo.”
