L’Italia ogni 16 marzo ricorda il rapimento del presidente della Democrazia Cristiana Aldo Moro da parte di un commando delle Brigate Rosse. L’auto dell’onorevole fu bloccata in via Mario Fani da un nucleo armato delle Brigate Rosse. Rimasero uccisi due carabinieri e tre poliziotti.
Quarantasei anni fa, mentre in mattinata Moro si recava in parlamento – dove doveva essere presentato il governo di Giulio Andreotti – la sua auto, nel tragitto tra la casa dell’onorevole, alla Camera dei deputati – fu bloccata in via Mario Fani a Roma da un nucleo armato delle Brigate Rosse. In pochi minuti, sparando con armi automatiche, i brigatisti uccisero i due carabinieri a bordo dell’auto di Moro, Oreste Leonardi e Domenico Ricci e i tre poliziotti che viaggiavano sull’auto di scorta, Raffaele Iozzino, Giulio Rivera e Francesco Zizzi poi sequestrarono l’onorevole. L’attentato viene rivendicato subito dalle Brigate Rosse. Per cinquantacinque giorni si alternano false notizie e depistaggi. L’italia è come paralizzata. In quel marzo del ’78 la situazione politica stava attraversando un mutamento: era appena passato lo scandalo Lockheed, in cui era coinvolto anche il presidente della Repubblica Giovanni Leone (Dc). La collaborazione tra il Pci di Berlinguer e la Dc di Aldo Moro avrebbe portato ad un nuovo modo di amministrare lo Stato. Un compromesso che al gruppo terroristico di stampo comunista non andava proprio a genio.Dopo il rapimento, il Pci è contrario a scendere a patti con le Br mentre i socialisti di Craxi si dichiarano più disponibili alle trattative. Lo scorso anno, la prima figlia dello statista, Maria Fida Moro, rivolgendosi al mondo della politica, in una lettera a La Nazione lamentava che al padre non era stato “ancora riconosciuto lo status” di “vittima del terrorismo”. Maria Fida non ci sarà all’anniversario del rapimento, è morta il 7 febbraio, all’età di 77 anni dopo aver trascorso la vita a cercare di far emergere tutta la verità sulla morte del padre.
