Ma solo dopo che la vedova Vitalia Velis e i figli avevano chiesto in via autonoma la riesumazione del cadavere del loro congiunto per sapere, grazie all’esame del Dna, se è veramente il corpo dell’uomo trovato ucciso, incaprettato e carbonizzato nel bagagliaio di un’auto nell’agosto 1993, nella campagna di Pisa.
Francesco Vinci, originario di Villacidro (Cagliari), è una delle figure indagate nella ‘pista sarda’ sui delitti del Mostro di Firenze, il serial killer autore di otto duplici omicidi commessi fra il ’68 e l’85. . Incarcerato nel 1982 come sospettato di essere l’autore dei delitti delle coppiette, fu poi scagionato e rimesso in libertà dopo il delitto dei ragazzi tedeschi a Giogioli del 1983 avvenuto proprio mentre era in cella.
