TazzinArt è un progetto che nasce nella primavera del 2024 con l’intento di valorizzare la produzione artistica di Città di Castello (PG), città italiana di antica e moderna tradizione ceramica. Il progetto ha coinvolto gli artisti e ceramisti che vivono e operano nel territorio i quali, per l’occasione, si sono cimentati su un tema tipico del design made in Italy: la tazzina da caffè, riletta artisticamente in una ricerca di forme e decori che esprimono “il gusto della ceramica contemporanea”.
Grazie a Monica Monaia, artista italiana residente a Cape Town l’iniziativa è stata allargata ad altri contesti, usando la tazzina come elemento per costruire legami tra gli artisti di Città di Castello e altre realtà ceramiche come il Sud Africa. È infatti noto come la ceramica sia una pratica che da sempre accomuna e lega gli uomini in diverse parti del mondo. In questa ottica la tazzina di caffè è forse l’oggetto conviviale che per immediatezza di realizzazione, riesce meglio di altri a riunire le persone spingendole al dialogo, tema oggi quantomai necessario. L’occasione si è presentata attraverso il coinvolgimento della Società Dante Alighieri di Cape Town che ha raccolto l’invito di esporre le tazzine e creare un ponte di dialogo tra Italia e Sud Africa promuovendo l’arte Italiana nella bellissima Cape Town e viceversa. L’appoggio della Camera di Commercio di Cape Town ha consentito la realizzazione del progetto. Gli artisti coinvolti, ognuno con un linguaggio personale e identitario sono: Luca Baldelli, Simona Baldelli, Isabella Bianchi Michael, Cristina Biccheri, Fanette Cardinali, Flavia Eleonora Colacicchi, Andrea Lensi, Monica Monaia, Nello Pierangeli e Giampaolo Tomassetti. Accanto a loro una rappresentanza di ceramica sud africana, realizzata nella Naledi pottery project di Langa, la più antica Township di Cape Town, da Sibusiso Meji, Thuliswa Canca e Funiswa. Un allargamento alla realtà africana, che pone le basi di una conoscenza anche in Italia dell’arte e l’artigianato ceramico del Sud Africa auspicando in future e fruttuose collaborazioni. Il progetto si avvale dell’appoggio del Consolato Italiano e del patrocinio del comune di Città di Castello.
