Il raggiro telefonico che prosciuga il credito

La truffa dell’893. Ogni giorno nuove trappole digitali prendono di mira gli utenti più distratti, e tra le più insidiose c’è quella legata ai numeri che iniziano per 893. Un semplice SMS, un messaggio su WhatsApp e il gioco è fatto: chi cade nel tranello rischia addebiti esorbitanti sul proprio conto telefonico. Ecco come funziona questa frode e cosa fare per evitarla

Tutto parte da un messaggio che sembra provenire da un numero italiano. Il testo è studiato per creare ansia e spingere il destinatario a richiamare subito. Un esempio classico?

“Abbiamo provato più volte a contattarla. È pregato di chiamare il numero 893*****per delle questioni che la riguardano.”

Già qui suonano i primi campanelli d’allarme:

Bugia n.1: nessuno ha mai provato a contattarvi prima.

Bugia n.2: il termine “Questioni” scritto in maiuscolo serve solo a creare urgenza, ma di fatto non c’è nulla in sospeso.

Se vi arriva un messaggio simile, il consiglio è uno solo: ignorarlo e cancellarlo immediatamente

Cosa succede se si richiama? Chi, preso dall’ansia, decide di comporre il numero finisce in una trappola costosa. Gli 893 sono numeri a tariffa maggiorata, e più a lungo si resta in linea, più salgono i costi. Spesso, all’altro capo della chiamata risponde un finto operatore che con scuse vaghe e frasi preconfezionate cerca di trattenervi al telefono il più possibile, facendo lievitare l’addebito.

Come difendersi dalla truffa

  • Non richiamare mai numeri sospetti, soprattutto con prefisso 893.
  • Non fornire dati personali al telefono.
  • Bloccare il numero direttamente dallo smartphone per evitare ulteriori messaggi.
  • Diffidare da SMS che creano urgenza o pressioni per richiamare.

Attivare un blocco per i numeri a pagamento tramite il proprio operatore telefonico, evitando così di cadere vittima di future frodi.
