Domenica 11 maggio i danzatori e coreografi Francesco Manenti e Daria Menichetti, con il coordinamento artistico di Giorgio Rossi, accompagneranno il pubblico attraverso lo splendido borgo toscano di Cortona con Non omnis moriar, omaggio in danza a Gino Severini, una performance itinerante ispirata dalla fascinazione che il pittore ebbe per la danza. La performance curata da Sosta Palmizi, si inserisce nell’ambito del progetto “Gino Severini a Cortona. Un artista internazionale nella sua città. Percorsi, testimonianze ed eventi” a cura di Comune di Cortona, in collaborazione con il MAEC e l’Accademia Etrusca e sostenuto dalla Direzione Generale per la Creatività Contemporanea del MiC (PAC 2024), con il coordinamento scientifico di Daniela Fonti e l’organizzazione generale di Villaggio Globale International. Appuntamento alle 17:30 al Museo Maec di Cortona da dove partirà il percorso danzato che guiderà il pubblico alla scoperta dei luoghi dell’artista. “Un vagabondo avventuriero e miserabile come me non si innamora” dichiara il giovane Gino Severini e invece si innamora di tutta la vita che gli si presenta. La ricerca coreografica di Francesco Manenti e Daria Menichetti si sviluppa indagando l’opera di Severini snodandosi attraverso la storia d’amore tra Gino e Jeanne e attraverso le danze pittoriche dell’artista, sviluppando un’armonia vagabonda del movimento in equilibrio tra miseria e magnificenza. Frammentazione del movimento, ritmo, energia, colori e forme sono alcuni dei temi compositivi che Severini riconosceva nella danza e che utilizzava nella composizione delle sue opere. Allo stesso modo nella performance questi temi saranno punto di partenza nella creazione di un percorso astratto dove vita, armonia e dinamismo dialogheranno tra loro. estratto della performance sarà presentato venerdì 9 maggio, a seguire dopo la conferenza Il “rappel à l’Italie”. Gino Severini a Montegufoni, con Alice Ensabella, professore associato in Storia dell’Arte Contemporanea all’Université Grenoble-Alpes in programma alle 17:00 presso la Sala Medicea di Palazzo Casali, sede del MAEC.

BIO ARTISTI        Francesco Manenti e Daria Menichetti lavorano in teatro da oltre 15 anni con diverse compagnie italiane come Sosta Palmizi, Teatro Kismet, Zaches Teatro, Abbondanza Bertoni, Eccentrici Dadarò e molti altri. Parallelamente portano avanti il loro lavoro come autori dando vita agli spettacoli ANIMULA, MERU, IKI, WALDEN e UNDERWOOD. Nel 2017 hanno realizzato “La venere e il vento”, una performance per gli Uffizi di Firenze. Da alcuni anni si sono trasferiti nell’appennino Reggiano dove portano avanti la loro ricerca teatrale nelle aree interne, cominciata a Preci con il progetto Corale e nell’appennino Modenese con i Teatri del Cimone. Si dedicano all’educazione al movimento in progetti specifici per anziani, adulti e bambini oltre a lavorare in progetti per le carceri italiane.
