ISDE ITALIA: contributo tecnico-scientifico importante per fermare l’inceneritore di fanghi ENI Rewind di Marghera Il Comitato Tecnico Regionale per la Valutazione di Impatto Ambientale (CTR VIA) della Regione Veneto ha espresso parere negativo sul progetto presentato da Eni Rewind.
Questa decisione è maturata grazie al lavoro instancabile di comitati, medici e associazioni, che hanno portato all’attenzione delle istituzioni dati scientifici, rilievi tecnici e richieste motivate di applicazione del principio di precauzione, anche alla luce delle criticità sottolineate dall’Istituto Superiore di Sanità.
Il respingimento del progetto di incenerimento dei fanghi proposto da ENI Rewind segna un passaggio rilevante per la tutela della salute pubblica e dell’ambiente in un territorio già gravemente compromesso da decenni di pressione industriale.
Anche ISDE Italia ha contribuito attivamente a questo risultato, fornendo sin dalle fasi iniziali del procedimento una documentazione solida e indipendente sugli impatti sanitari legati alla combustione di fanghi contaminati da PFAS e da altre sostanze pericolose.
Attraverso un lavoro continuativo di analisi e confronto, abbiamo affiancato i colleghi medici della sezione di ISDE Venezia e i Comitati, elaborando osservazioni tecnico-scientifiche e rapporti che hanno evidenziato le criticità dell’impianto proposto, in particolare rispetto ai rischi per la salute derivanti dalla combustione incompleta dei PFAS.
La nostra attività ha avuto come obiettivo principale quello di mettere a disposizione delle istituzioni, sin dalle prima fasi del procedimento, valutazioni tecnico-sanitarie fondate sul principio di precauzione e coerenti con le evidenze scientifiche più recenti e con i pareri espressi successivamente da enti di riferimento come l’Istituto Superiore di Sanità, contribuendo così a indirizzare la decisione del Comitato Tecnico Regionale per la Valutazione di Impatto Ambientale (CTR VIA).
Questo pronunciamento assume un valore che va oltre il singolo progetto: afferma l’importanza di una valutazione ambientale e sanitaria realmente indipendente e partecipata, e apre la strada a un nuovo approccio nella gestione dei rifiuti e dei fanghi contaminati da PFAS, che privilegi soluzioni alternative all’incenerimento e fondi le scelte politiche su dati scientifici trasparenti e condivisi.
ISDE Italia continuerà a offrire supporto tecnico e scientifico in tutti i contesti in cui la protezione della salute collettiva e la salvaguardia ambientale richiedano rigore, competenza e ascolto delle comunità coinvolte.
