L’Argentina capisce con chi ha a che fare. Anche noi, poco prima del quarto d’ora : entrata a piedi uniti di Tarantini su Tardelli e l’arbitro Rainea dorme, perché non chiama neanche fallo. Si ribella Pablito Rossi: ammonito. Le occasioni da gol: un siluro di Antognoni su piazzato, di poco alto. Ancora lui, palla splendida per Conti che lascia ai blocchi Tarantini e crossa troppo sul portiere. La marcatura di Gentile su Maradona è a tutto campo, senza falli degni di nota fin quasi alla mezz’ora. A prendere il giallo per primo è Diego, per protesta dopo aver fatto fallo lui su Gentile che lo aveva anticipato. Nell’ultimo quarto d’ora l’Argentina riesce a servire di più Diego e soffriamo. Scirea spende il fallo più evidente . Al minuto 32, Rainea sventola un altro giallo a Kempes per un’entrata con la trebbiatrice sul piede d’appoggio di Tardelli. E non si capisce l’assoluzione precedente di Tarantini.Nella ripresa, al minuto 56 Bruno Conti si accentra e trova Antognoni : la squadra argentina è tagliata in due, Antognoni largo per l’inserimento di Tardelli, 1-0. A questo punto l’Argentina attacca a ranghi compatti : Bertoni sbaglia di testa da 5 metri, Passarella sollecita Zoff due volte. E ripartiamo al minuto 67 con le ali invertite : Graziani a destra per Rossi, che irride il fuorigioco di Galvan e se ne va da solo. Poi sbaglia, tirando su Fillol in uscita. Sulla ribattuta, Bruno Conti a sinistra ubriaca di finte Fillol e prepara per il mancino di Cabrini : 2-0. Inutile la furbata di Passarella su piazzato, 2-1. Un minuto dopo, espulso Gallego. In contropiede ci divoriamo 3 volte il terzo gol. Ci avevano dati per finiti, eccoci qua.
