Un ritratto di ragazze e ragazzi dai 14 ai 19 anni del territorio tra senso di comunità, rischi del web e nuove fragilità da affrontare Radicati al territorio ma sempre più immersi nel digitale. È lo spaccato che emerge dall’indagine della Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa, che racconta la vita reale e virtuale dei giovani, in particolare, del Casentino.
Il report, realizzato in collaborazione con l’Agenzia regionale di sanità, l’Asl Toscana sud est, i Comuni e le scuole del territorio, fotografa 226 studenti tra i 14 e i 19 anni e restituisce il ritratto di una generazione che vive tra radici solide offline e mondi digitali pieni di insidie.
Che immagine ne esce? Le ragazze e i ragazzi del Casentino sono legati alla loro terra, si sentono parte della loro comunità, il 50% di loro vede qui il proprio futuro e crede “che il futuro di questo territorio sia nelle mani delle persone che ci vivono”. Il 61% dichiara di avere un rendimento scolastico “abbastanza buono” e nel 55% dei casi ha intenzione, finita la scuola, di iscriversi all’università, solo il 10% è ancora indeciso sulla strada da intraprendere. La maggior parte dei ragazzi e delle ragazze si sente emotivamente stabile mentre 1 su 5 (20%) vive uno stato di disagio, di solitudine che manifesta con ansia e nervosismo.
Buono il quadro che emerge sugli stili di vita: quasi il 90% è normopeso, dorme 7 ore a notte, fa attività fisica almeno due volte a settimana. Più preoccupanti, in linea con i dati regionali e nazionali, i numeri sul binge drinking (assunzione smodata di alcol) e sulle scommesse: il 47% dichiara di essersi ubriacato e il 56% di aver bevuto energy drink negli ultimi 12 mesi, mentre il 42% afferma di aver già fatto esperienze di gioco d’azzardo.
E nel mondo virtuale? La Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna analizza i comportamenti che espongono gli adolescenti a nuove e differenti vulnerabilità. Un terzo dei ragazzi riferisce di aver chattato online con persone sconosciute e alcuni di essere stati invitati a inviare video o foto confidenziali. D’altra parte, sebbene molti genitori cerchino di dare regole sull’uso della rete, un controllo effettivo avviene solo nell’8% dei casi. Molteplici appaiono i rischi a cui gli adolescenti sono esposti nella loro vita virtuale: interazioni indesiderate, contenuti a sfondo sessuale, fake news, truffe online, ma anche video violenti, messaggi discriminatori o che promuovono diete drastiche. Non mancano episodi di bullismo e tentativi di adescamento. Solo un intervistato su quattro (25%) afferma di non essersi mai trovato in situazioni di rischio.
L’indagine del Sant’Anna evidenzia, seppur in misura limitata, un dato che invita alla riflessione: la dimensione violenta che possono assumere alcune relazioni sentimentali online. Si parla di episodi di molestie, minacce e diffusione non consensuale di contenuti privati. Anche in Casentino, alcuni adolescenti raccontano di partner che controllano i loro dispositivi, impongono di bloccare contatti o ricorrono ad aggressioni e offese tramite messaggi. Un quadro che si accompagna, però, a un elemento positivo: oltre l’80% dei ragazzi dichiara di avere adulti di riferimento di cui si fida e a cui può rivolgersi per chiedere aiuto o confronto.
“Un’indagine di grande valore – sottolinea Marzia Sandroni, direttrice della Zona Distretto del Casentino – perché ci consente di leggere in profondità la realtà dei giovani, individuando sia i fattori di rischio sia quelli protettivi. Questi dati ci permettono di costruire, insieme ai giovani stessi, alla scuola, alle famiglie e ai Comuni, percorsi condivisi di supporto, interventi educativi e azioni di prevenzione e promozione della salute, tarati sui bisogni reali dei ragazzi.”
“Comprendere il mondo interiore degli adolescenti significa entrare in contatto con la complessità delle loro esperienze – spiega Susanna Giaccherini, direttrice dell’UOC Psicologia Zona Aretina –. Le relazioni, il rapporto con il corpo e l’identità digitale sono dimensioni che si intrecciano e influenzano profondamente il benessere psicologico. Fenomeni come il disagio, la solitudine o la difficoltà nel gestire le emozioni non riguardano solo il Casentino, ma riflettono tendenze più ampie che interessano gli adolescenti di oggi in ogni contesto. A partire da questa consapevolezza possiamo costruire percorsi di prevenzione e sostegno più efficaci, capaci di connettere mente, emozioni e relazioni, e di rafforzare le competenze emotive e sociali dei ragazzi. Solo così la promozione della salute diventa reale, radicata e duratura.”
