Entra nel vivo il programma degli eventi. Domenica 11 gennaio 2026 in Pinacoteca, l’inaugurazione della mostra del Primo Ciclo. Nel 2026 ricorre il centenario del maestro, Giorgio Ascani, Nuvolo (Città di Castello, 12 ottobre 1926 – 10 ottobre 2008). Associazione Archivio Nuvolo, in collaborazione con la famiglia Ascani e il comune di Città di Castello hanno organizzato per l’occasione una serie di eventi che riguarderanno principalmente la città natale dell’artista.
Domenica 11 gennaio 2026, ore 16.30 presso la Pinacoteca Comunale di Città di Castello, verrà inaugurata presentazione ciclica. Una mostra della durata di diciotto mesi, durante la quale ogni cinque settimane verrà cambiato l’allestimento della sala, di fatto saranno undici mostre diverse che proporranno l’intero lavoro di Nuvolo dalle prime Seroripie del 1952 ai Legni Collage del 2002, la maggior parte di queste opere sono inedite o esposte in rare occasioni. Primariamente l’allestimento riguarderà ‘Sala Nuvolo’; alcuni cicli prevendono anche il coinvolgimento della ‘Sala Nuove Acquisizioni’ o della ‘Manica Lunga’. Presentazione Ciclica terminerà il 23 maggio 2027. Nuvolo Centenario è un progetto del comune di Città di Castello e di Archivio Nuvolo a cura di Bruno Corà, Aldo Iori, Lorenzo Fiorucci e Paolo Ascani, con il sostegno di regione Umbria, provincia di Perugia, Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio dell’Umbria, Accademia Belle Arti ‘Pietro Vannucci’ di Perugia; Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Città di Castello, Di Donna Galleries di New York; Archivio Corrado Cagli, Fondazione Palazzo Albizzini Collezione Burri, MUA (Musei Umbri Alto Tevere), Poliedro Cultura, e il supporto di Cepu Arte. Ed è stato riconosciuto dal Ministero della Cultura come iniziativa di rilevante interesse culturale, attestandone il valore artistico e il contributo alla promozione del territorio. “Apriamo ufficialmente il Centenario di Nuvolo, che ci accompagnerà con mostre e iniziative di livello nazionale, in tutto il 2026, rappresentandone a livello culturale uno dei progetti maggiori insieme alla partecipazione dello Stendardo di Raffaello alla mostra del MET di New York. Pur nel profilo internazionale dell’artista, Nuvolo ha conservato un forte legame artistico e umano con il territorio di origine. Il Centenario di Nuvolo rappresenta una ricorrenza significativa su cui convogliare risorse ed energie per il profilo dell’artista e per il suo legame con la città. Al tempo stesso il Centenario è anche un’occasione di promozione esterna per il patrimonio culturale della città, e una vetrina internazionale per le collezioni contemporanee della Pinacoteca, sui cui l’Amministrazione è impegnata con un progetto specifico”.
